PHYE uses photographs to compose designs for printed accessories.
With an appreciation of textile prints and a passion for photography, the two Swedish founders living in Hong Kong, started experimenting with photographic images to achieve an organic look and feel to their designs, and began transforming snapshots from their own photo libraries into unique textile patterns and palettes. The altered images or patterns are then digitally printed onto high quality woven fabrics including pure silk, lambs wool and cashmere blends.
All prints are limited edition; production details for each design are included with each purchase, along with a short description of the story behind the image. Original photos were taken in China, North Korea, Sweden, and Hong Kong.
The name PHYE is borrowed from the Greek letter Phi, used to represent the golden ratio, a mathematical calculation often used in photography and other visual arts, to describe what is also referred to as the divine proportion.
